They knew my name and said that they were phoning my mobile because of an accident I have had. I tried to find out whether they really knew about the accident I had or whether they were simply guessing randomly but they wouldn't give it away so I just made up some unprobable scenario and they said "this sounds a bit suspicious" and hung up.

Caller claimed to be a James Smith from HSBC bank. Asked elderly relative to confirm bank card details including 16 digit number. When I intercepted call kept trying to get details, despite me refusing he was scamming. Became abusive and finally put phone
