Claims to be from Amazon about Amazon prime - to discontinue press 1. As this is not showing as an Amazon phone number then suspect it is an attempt at fraud. Also noticing that the number is the same as my number except the last 3 digits are different so could this be a way to mask the actual mobile number?
Fraud suspected,claims to be Virgin Media, did not try to verify any personal details or account details. Wants the IP address that they are supplying to me, at which point I ended call. Story is that activity from my connection has been taken over by 3rd Party Phone number that appears in caller ID is that of Cheriton House, Croydon - Care Home Review http://www.bestcarehome.co.uk › services › view › cher... 20 Chipstead Avenue Thornton Heath Surrey CR7 7DG; Tel: 02086897788;
This is a scam. They claim to be calling from DHL about an unpaid import duty charge but they haven’t even got the right amount! I’d already had an email from DHL a few days earlier. Didn’t ask for payment over the phone but sent an email. What bothers me is that they had my home phone number, my email address (the payment link was in a very poorly constructed fake email from ‘George Spofforth’) & the DHL waybill number. Serious data breach going on here.
2x Missed calls Didn't answer
Said they were BT, I had too many people using my IP. The account name was wrong. They said they could block them from their server, but it would be better from my PC. After my challenges they sent a text message with a verification code. It said to change my password. I did. Had one previously, real BT support said it was a scam. Assumed this identical call was too. Only the false account name was a clue, otherwise how can you tell?
randomly messaged me on whatsapp, asian female profile pic, claiming to be a tourist. after blocking them they removed the profile picture. likely catfish
Claimed to be able to save me money on my mobile phone bill. Claimed originally to be from EE, but that isn't my provider, he then argued with me about my provider - he eventually hung up. I always keep them talking as much as possible to save the next poor victim.
Appears to be BUPA - asked for a quote, asked not to be contacted, they still call.
