Rang 101 this morning to report it but the police were really not interested in this and suggested it was a scam. Also suggested I go and watch the property at 1.30 this afternoon and if anyone turned up, to ring 999.

I called the number from a landline and got no response so googled the problem on line and came up with these responses. So very worrying as I knew nothing was amiss.
