eventually got through to a man called john said he was from "the Advice Company" and was ringing about the recent car accident - when I asked which one claiming I have had 11 this week he hung up. My number is registered with the TPS these opportunists ring me at least once a week from a different number. When you call the number back you get a message that it is not accepting calls at the moment.

Halifax bank saying a payment request was made from a new source. I don t have a Halifax account, never have. Presume a scam text. Did not open the link.
probable scam from call centre with Indian voice; story was a "foreign hacker" event, needing intervention on my BT line security settings, but connecting from my side to something. When confronted, the caller promoted a google search for "validator", presumably leading to connection and some kind of fishing or malware episode.
