Called and an Asian voice said they were calling from BT about my Internet connection. I rang off and dialled the number and got a message saying that the number was no longer in use

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 12179005xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with financial services, trading on-line (also reported from different countries - international call centre). Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
Calls regularly, but when I answer there is nobody on the other end. I called the number back but either don t get an answer or it rings out. It is a Glasgow dialling code but I don t know anybody in Glasgow and have no dealings with any businesses there. I ve blocked the number and reported to OFCOM. I would advise anybody else being pestered by this number to do the same.

Trying to sell life insurance daily. I find it upsetting because I have just been told I have cancer-the last thing I need is this.I suppose the next call will be funeral services...How do you stop it?

I've been called by this number several times whilst in work yesterday and each time I've tried to call back all I've gotten was beeping on the line after it rang briefly. I've already blocked it.

Suspected fraud Automated call saying they are calling from Royal Mail because parcel hasn't been delivered twice as nobody was home and to press button for English or Chinese. Then the same message in Chinese. As I did not press a button, the call ended. (And I am not waiting for a parcel). I am very suspicious, as I never got a call from Royal Mail from a mobile number, they normally leave a notification behind to pick it up yourself. And why would they have the same message in Chinese as well?Fraud
