I am local to Wrexham and have recently had 4 local numbers that have called me whose numbers I don t recognize so have left the calls go to answer phone but shortly after my answer phone message starts, they hang up. They are probably all from the same organization all calling from different numbers. WATCH OUT!!! ... they call you on mobile..where there is no telephone preference service. They let it ring ONLY a few rings... so you are not able to get to answer it in time! Then because its a landline number ... you are DUPED into calling THEM! ...& go to landline & ring THEM! This then means "they have not broken the telephone preference rules!!....WHY YOU ASK???? Because YOU RANG THEM!... they then have YOUR LANDLINE NUMBER Legitimately to SELL ON to others! DO NOT RING THEM BACK.....EVER!!!

A man claiming to be from office of fair trading called saying I had £ 5000 cheque from ppi which they had claimed for me and I had to buy a £250 Ukash voucher and then the cheque would be delivered I questioned this and the caller calling himself Peter McGuire became rather frustrated I said I would look into it and he should call me back tomorrow! O FT website have a warning about phone scams like this!

Keeps calling my number but usually no one is there when I answer. Just a long period of silence and then the call is ended. Very annoying and probably upsetting for some people. I have spoken to them in the past and said I was not interested but it has not deterred them from calling again and again.

I had a call from this number and was instantly suspicious. I phone Lloyds (PhoneBank) number to be told that this number belongs to the Lloyds Credit Card Collection department (I had missed a payment due to personal circumstances) and they wanted their money. Like most people, I am suspicious of individuals whose language skills are a lot less than mine and have a heavy accent. If the number is blocked some of these calls then get through on an unknown or withheld number. As our doctors and the hospital withhold their numbers and I have someone Ill in my household I just add annoying numbers to my directory under PITA ......aka pain in the a*** or telemarketers.
