Called 3 times in 1 day, knew my first name and told me I’d replied to an online add indicating I was interested in earning money online - number now blocked

Said washing machine insurance needed renewal and would write confirming payment after if they could have card details. When I asked details, they did not Know ended call.

Called today and silent when answered. Then electronic voice simply said "goodbye"

Claiming to be British Gas, wanted my postcode and details of my account, indian voice, put the phone down...scammers!!!

Truecaller dot com shows 447 members have reported as spam. So far 440 calls have been sent to voicemail and not a single message has been left. Suspect these calls originate from a request for life insurance quotation. Google search and another directory site would seem to support that assumption.

Rang claiming to be the Consumer Advice line, and an abject lie obviously by the staff member. I had received a very large number of calls from this number over the previous weeks and months sometimes twice daily and already checked out who they were. I enjoyed swearing furiously at them.

First I got a call on my Mobile from a number showing as New York - didn t answer. Then I got a call a coupel of minutes later from 07418342582, ostensibly a UK Mobile. Answered and got a recorded message in Arabic (or Greek, or similar). I hung up. A few minutes later a text with a Telegram code number, asking me to click a link. Obviously I didn t as I know nothing about this. Beware!

The caller immediately rang off without saying anything. Perhaps it was because I have got into the habit of saying "Hello" loudly enough to damage the eardrums when I get these unwanted interruptions. Elderly lady has been called a dozen times in 6 months, claiming she has overpaid her income tax. By paying a handling fee of nearly ?300 to an account in New Delhi, they will release the cheque. Stop these people from preying on our vulnerable citizens!
