I have caller ID. The number 00349441210763 was shown which immediately changed to 01213140763, so I suspect the number was spoofed. The first number was probably spoofed also, as I have international calls barred. The caller had a thick foreign accent and I did not understand everything that was said. Got a call from this number. I said hello twice as there was silence at first, then they hung up.

These calls use spoofed numbers and originate outside the UK. Just block the number if you have the facility. TPS is useless against these callers.

Well-known scam has been around for a long time.

Foreign call centre refuse to remove me from their database and laughed at my request. Told me I must answer all their questions first and called me back 20x in 10 mins as I kept on ganging up. Total fruit cakes!
