Unsolicited calls from a holiday insurance claim company that gets it's cold call contact numbers from online directories. We've had between 1 and 3 calls a day for over a week to our main reception. When challenged they simply hang up!

This number called me this morning, despite my number being on TPS. Told me I "had been involved in a serious road accident" (which I hadn t, of course) and became offensive when I asked them not to call my number.
Missed first call - no message. Answered second call a day later but there was no-one there. Hung up.
SCAM There was a short pause after I picked up the telephone, with a lot of background noise, such as you might get from someone in a crowded bar, not what I'd expect from a legitimate outfit. The person who spoke had a thick accent so I initially thought it might be from an overseas call centre. The person who spoke said they were from British Telecom, so I told them where to go and hung up.
