Scam
When answering the call, a pre-recorded male voice told me that my NI number would be under investigation, because several fraudulent activities had been registered. It then urged me to press 1 for further information. I terminated the call immediately. However, this does not seem a legitimate phone number from which such a call would be made. Therefore, I am classing this as scam/fraud.

I live in Norway and was called up twice in the evening by this number. I did not answer because of the fact it was evening and I did not expect anyone from UK to call me on my private mobile phone.

SCAM:Kumar phoned from this number saying they were from the Financial Conduct Authority and that a member of the household (had name) was owed compensation for bank charges 3-4 years ago and that the claims company that engaged had not handled everything right and the FCA was taking over the claims, and would send a cheque through the post. Didn't want any bank details, but upon phoning the FCA directly, they confirmed they would not engage in an activity such as taking over paying out compensation claims.
Demands call back to avoid HMRC expensive claims. Number mentioned by recorded voice and 1471 lists the same number.
