call from this number Monday 6th March at 13.50 when an automated voice said I was about to spend £700 + on an Amazon order and that they had halted the transaction pending my pressing button 1. I smelt a rat and hung up then Googled the number to find this site. I'm confident it was a hoax.

I have a Sky and 02 contract, different phones. I had a call from this number purporting to be 02 on my Sky phone; took me a while to realise! Offered me a 45% discount on my bill for 2 years with no catches??? Spoke in an Indian accent, very fast, so not easy to understand. Asked for my full name, which I queried as he was supposed to have my account records. However, not giving anything away, I did so but he misspelled everything. This is a genuine NHS number. They use it to call patients to cancel/alter appointments mostly. They cannot leave messages on answerphones because of confidentiality issues.

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.

Spam caller claiming to be from Vodafone (my mobile contract isn't with Vodafone), wanting my bank details so they could apply a discount to my contract. Very persistent - when I told them I didn't know my postcode they called back the following night. Even provided me with a (mobile!) number I could call to check that they really were Vodafone.
