Was called by this number early in the morning with an automated message regarding an Amazon Prime subscription I had not renewed and was going to be charged £95 because of this oversight. I could press one number to speak to an adviser and another to contest it. I did neither as it was clearly a scam. Interesting that this was a landline - it makes me wonder if they forgot to press 'number withheld'. Would think this could be investigated

They claimed to be from EE, and I'm not sure if he said 'my' mobile phone provider, or 'a' mobile phone provider. I am actually with EE and I know that when I get calls from them it isn't from a number in Sunderland. I challenged him on this, and he said that although when we call EE it's 150 when they call back it's from a landline. I know that's a lie as calls I receive back from EE are 0800 numbers. This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with financial marketing - loans.

Someone called from this number claiming to be speaking from "Direct Response" about the accident on the road that I'd been involved in, in the last three years. As I don't drive and haven't been in any accident in the last three years and more, this was obvious fraud. I told him that. He kept trying to claim it wasn't and eventually hung up.

Fraud - another tax fraud saying from hmrc investigating tax fraud - very dangerous.

woman called and said she was wanting to know about an accident i had had. when i pressed her who she was calling from (which company) she quickly changed and said she would take my number off her list and could not hang up quickly enough. an obvious scam call wanting personal information to be used or sold on in an identity theft. be on your guard and do not divulge any information. any reputable company would write with a reply address and claim form do not fall for these scammers.

Several calls from this number - never anyone at other end, then call terminated - now blocked on my phone.

Strongly accented man, saying something about a computer virus, when I said I couldn't understand him he got quite rude saying 'who are you?' over and over again. I hung up! Lots of noise in the background, obviously a call centre.
