this company keeps calling my mobile asking to speak to a person living within my house. this person has never had or given out my mobile phone number.

They call throughout the day, I answer they hang up

left a voicemail saying who he was, company, reason for calling and a mobile number to call back on. very impressed

called about 4 times already. I don't answer let all unknown numbers go straight to machine they don't leave a message

Today I had a voice mail and someone was clearly unhappy with it as the only thing they said before hanging up very quickly was "oh s*it" I am satisfied that for once they got annoyed with me;)

Like all the other comments, this was a recorded message claiming to be from Inland Revenue (I should have smelled a rat immediately at that point - it s HMRC now...) and that I was being sued. Brain not in gear, and in panic, dialled 1, but silence at the other end, then call terminated. I am now so angry. Been called by these people 4 times this week .they say their a finance business looking for someone. the guy seemed nice and professional but gave me the wrong details. so i dont know if their legit or not.(i did'nt share any of my details with him though just to be safe).
