Been called four times today and a few times throughout the last week. I selected option 1 to rectify fault (the recording claims BT are going to disconnect my broadband) the call went through to an ethnic accented lady who claimed she was working for BT, when she started asking which equipment I use, I queried it. Sounds like an alternate version of the Microsoft scam. I said I don't have broadband with BT, she hung up. Definitely a scam/phishing operation. Number will be blocked now.

By the look of the searches being made now for this number it would appear that another scam is raising it's ugly head. Research shows that this is the area code for Banbridge, a suburb of Belfast and I most certainly do not have any connections with anyone in this area.No message left on answerphone so you can draw your own conclusions from that.

Mobile number locator shows as being near industrial site off Mitton Road, Whalley near Blackburn. The intent is to scare vulnerable/older people into making contact, so as to gain access to their PC via remote access. HMRC are aware of this type of scam but I informed them anyway.
