Received a call from this number and listening to the message can understand why people fall for this. The message advises that HMRC wish to speak with you and it may be in your interest to appoint a Solicitor. Then asks that you call back. I called back and an Asian male answered with "This is Her Majesties Revenue Control, how can I help you" I hung up. Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls - surveys, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. It seems that hospitals are in a Catch 22 situation here. While wishing to remind patients of appointments, and thus cut down on missed appointments, they also wish to protect people's data so cannot simply leave a message on an answerphone which may be accessed by people other than the person to whom they are addressing. Same guy called back after a few minutes hoping to get my sister who already had spent 30 minutes talking to him. When I wouldn't put my sister on the phone he threatened to disconnect the internet, so I told him go ahead and he then ended the call.
