Asking me how much money I owe. When I asked who they were and why they were calling me, the answer was we are calling to help pay off your debt, now tell me how much you owe ?! No thanks.
I received a call today from this number. They knew my name and told me they were ringing about my computer and that someone had tried to hack into it twice. I responded by saying no one tried to hack into my computer and how did you get this number and they hung up. This was clearly a scam but the scary part about it was that I could hear he was in a call centre.
BT, Openreach, Virgin, Sky, TalkTalk, Apple, Microsoft, etc., will NEVER call you unless you have contacted them. ANY unsolicited call about viruses, a problem with your router ...

Caller asked to speak to the bill payer. I asked the caller to remove my number from their dialling list and he laughed. Said how did I know he wasn t my service provider if I didn t let him speak. I repeated my request and he hung up.
I ve found out these phishing scammers are based in Malaysia. They also use spam text messages to try and get your details. Now calling my mobile as well now. Registered on TPS but useless for outside the UK. They will not listen but luckily I can block numbers on my phone so blocked away!
