Asian/Indian sounding man rang at 6pm 15/01/18 and wanted to know if I had received my local Comet paper in the past few weeks. Stupidly I though it odd but as he mentioned my local paper I presumed genuine. I told him I hadn't received any. He then checked the street name with me and mumbled a house number which I couldn't distinguish. I didn't give him my house number but confirmed the street. Having tried to ring the number this morning it is not valid and now reading these posts I can see it is a scam.

I had a call from this number, they knew my full name and informed me that according to their records I had been in touch with my insurance company regarding some damage on my car recently and/or over the past three years. I haven't so this is clearly a scam!
