A gentleman who sounded African, giving his name as George, said he was from a company (poss a website?) whose name I did not quite catch, sounded like "evil News", which sounded like nothing I have ever signed up for or connected with, trying to get personal and financial information. told him I was ending the call and rang off. It screamed "phishing scam" at me.

I kept getting this number daily for two weeks , usually I never answered it but today I decided to see who was calling me - she said she was from Vodafone and asked for my home phone number - which I thought was suspect , I couldn't understand her accent

This phone number was a PPI call. Foreign accent from caller. Would not accept that to get a refund of PPI you have to have had it in the first place. Hung up in end. If you are not interested don't answer this call.
