Rang back and there was a message from the NSPCC fundraising team. This seems legit as I am one of their customers, however I wish they d fix an outgoing number as I already had one saved to my phone! Obviously, always exercise caution no matter who your caller claims to be, but I think this is legit.
Fraud On answering the call I was advised HMRC were looking into fraud, if I didn’t press 1 and speak to them the police would arrest me. I pressed one but music playing!!!
Got a text from this number 07305 096031 saying: Oi oi, would you be able to sub me 60 til the 24th? I have no idea who this is, and I’m not going to call or reply either as I suspect it’s a scam. Wondering how they got my phone number though!
