I think the best way to hit them where it hurts (if you have the time) is to keep the on the line as long as possible, keeping them thinking you are/might be interested, without giving out personal (or real) details. BEWARE - scammer. 2nd identical call today. A male with an Indian accent told me his name was Winston and he was calling from BT. I asked him what my BT account number is, but he did not answer and said he was calling because of a problem with my router / browser. The number was falsified - when I tried calling it back, it did not connect.
