Attempted Fraud. Be aware! Automated call from a nameless credit card company!
Asian male ... from Virgin Media ...said my broaband was not working properly. I hung up. Worryingly this scammer is purporting to be phoning from close to my own area so the number looks genuine.

How this has been given a safe rating is beyond me!! Claim they are from O2 and send a code and then ask for it. They will then proceed to send you a phone by mistake and ring you back in a panic and say they sent it to you by mistake and can you send it back to them. Just hang up!!
Answered because it was a local number, it was a recorded message informing me she was from Visa protection (or some such) and a £300 payment to Amazon and £1000 and odd to elsewhere were pending, press #1 for help if I had not authorised them. An unnerving scam, could easily catch someone out. Blocked.

I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing.
