I received an email purporting to be from Ebay telling me that I had bought a £ 1000. television ( which I had not ) and that it would be delivered Mar 16th-17th and quoting this as a contact number. This is an obvious scam !

Number called twice, purporting to be from Caernarfon. Hangs up on answering. In my experience this is an auto-dial check to make sure that a real person answers the number. I will no doubt be getting calls from the Indian subcontinent, with the caller using redirect software to make the call appear to be coming from the UK. Yes, this is an automated "appointment verification" call from Cambridgeshire NHS (Addenbrookes) to verify and offer you options on an appointment that you or someone in your family has booked. All automated, like voter registration - "Press 1", "Press 2", etc. System will ring you several times in attempts to get answered.
