Supposedly a company called Direct Legal, claimed to want to talk to me about compensation for an accident. A quick google search reveals they are a debt collection agency based in Buckley, even though the phone number has a Glasgow area code.

Called on our landline. Recorded message from Bank Security (didn't bother to say which bank). Apparently 2 transactions on my card (which one?!) £300 to Amazon and ..... I gave up at this point as it's obviously a scam. All our banks are based elsewhere so wouldn't phone from a local number and have mobile phones as first contact. Our number is recorded on Telephone Preference service but that doesn't seem to make any difference

SCAM. I just activated my number and then 3days later (today) I've received 2seperate calls from them. One was that I'd apparently made enquiries on their WiFi broadband internet. SHE GAVE ME MY OWN FULL NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH!!!! HOW DAMN SCARY IS THAT!!!! I E REPORTED TO THE https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/news/scam-phone-call-warning#:~:text=To%20report%20a%20fraud%2C%20call,our%2 ORGANISATION (WEBSITE) aka police for fraud. I SUGGEST EVERYONE ELSE WHEN U EXPERIENCE THE SAME TO DO THIS ASWELL.

POSSIBLE SCAM A female caller "Jess" said she was from Solar Energy Advice Ltd , offering reduced cost equipment in return for using it in a promotion. I asked if she had heard of the TPS, and her silence indicated she had not. I told her that unsolicited calls to a TPS registered number, without checking the TPS list, could mean a £5000 fine for her company. Then I hung up. A Google search for the company name shows NO company with that name appears to exist in the UK.
Call a person /persons I m assisting simply don t communicate by phone ignore, block , change number. Check if debt is enforceable if not don t pay it ,arrange repayment by letter if you wish or request they take you to court and then leave it until you hear from the court. They can ask for payment they cannot enforce it just change numbers bin letter . Claim to be from BT regarding my Internet connexion. When I said I am not with BT the Indian voice became very agitated and starting shouting at me as though I am an idiot. I could not understand all he said but he wanted to check my Internet out. Put the phone down. Have had several missed calls from them in the last week.
