Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. Hung up on me and didn't call me back when I told him I keep very little in the account, whilst I was silently checking the account in the background. My wife took the call and person with a Asian voice started to go on about my council tax and when i asked why he was calling at this time he said it was very important and i told him all government offices are closed and that this is a failed scam and he and his boss must be as thick as hell to call at this time then i put the phone down. Beware its another scam.

Fraud Call - I got a called from this number saying they were from O2 and offering me a 40% discount on my bill. They said I would receive a code from them and to read it out to them. I got 2 messages from O2 saying I had requested a security code and not to give the code to anyone and if I suspected fraud to call 202. The lady got really aggressive when I said I wouldn't give her the code as O2 shouldn't need the code. When I said I would check if this was ok she gave me another number to call to verify -

Claimed to be from Carphone warehouse, not convinced Carphone warehouse would employ a tele-sales person who spoke poor English though. Persisted to try to sell me an iPhone 14 even though I told him from the start I already owned one !!!! If this gentleman really was calling from Leeds and given its an obvious scam then I do worry about his right to be living in the UK.

It’s a scam! Told me they had noticed an unusual amount for £1100.00 had been taken from my account. Said they wanted to verify that I had spent it, which I hadn’t but they wanted me to confirm account details.I asked who them to repeat who they were and they said from visa.
