The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. When asked why it was a Manchester number on caller identifier he stated that it really was London (!) but I could call 08000969345 to verify who he was. Googled that number but that turned out to be a taxi firm in Manchester. Really.... how stupid do they think we are?
