SCAM. Call from an Asian-sounding woman called 'Liz'. Knew my name and address and said she was from Domestic & General and my washing machine warranty had expired. I told her I've never had a washing machine warranty and that she was a scammer. She hung up. Scum.

The call sounded very much as if it came from a call centre because I answered, there was a pause and a click and then someone answered from what sounded like a very busy office. He gave me an overly cheerful 'gooooood morning', which I didn't know how to answer because it's 4pm here. As I considered my response, the line went dead.

These telemarketer / scammers / PPI / "doing a survey" calls are wrecking my life. Never mind the economy, defence, education or independence referendum - what the f**k are our overpaid (and about to be paid more) politicians doing about this scourge of unwanted phone calls? First party to sort this out gets my vote!
Legit company trying to save me money
Life insurance caller from a London based company. My number was passed on to them through an Indian call centre claiming I was entitled to PPI. Indian call centre asked for bank details from the start of call then passed through to this UK based life insurance caller.

This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. Called regarding a shares account, tried to convince us to allow access to our computer. Refused shared access and she agreed to send the web address to access the account, tried to convince us by sending another $350 we could withdraw our account balance of $700 Absolute scam.
