I was trying to activate a phone on my company network and after working with Verizon and the phone started initializing it came up with this phone number which is 1/2 way around the world for Bribane. Verizon still working on figuring it out. Not sure how this phone number was hijacked to a phone number so far away from my location and mysteriously changed numbers. The phone number on the account has been on my account for 25 years now.
Said they was citizens advice twice in the call and my application is being approved i asked what application as ive not applied for one. When i questioned him about it he could only give my name nothing else. I then saod citizens advice now call random calls he then said he works for citizens governments advice. So i asked him why he said something different, he posited he worked for this company. I said the company name doesn't make any sense. He then hung up the phone

Pre-recorded female voice (American accent) purporting to be HMRC but number coming up on iPhone as Newquay area. I know nobody who holds this number or who lives, works or has any connection with the location you show for its use. This number was used to dial my own 4 times in three minutes yesterday. As a result, I assumed was a cold caller or scammer and will block it.

I was absolutely sure I hadn't registered on the site by mistake as all my information was there. Funny enough he could not give me the date of my supposed registration! Called from Citizens advice group. I questioned the male caller with a south Asian accent in some detail. He was very helpful. They were calling about debts and he asked what debts we had. I asked him where they got our number and he replied FCA ????????????. I then asked him for the person or department name as I have previously worked with FCA in the past, he didn’t give it to me. He was very polite and said he couldn’t continue. He also said they weren’t authorised in the UK!
This was Teamsearch in Halifax (market research) on behalf of West Yorkshire combined authority. Carrying out research into transport and covid. Phone number checked out by me.

This number is being used for a scam. This number called claiming to be the bank & said two large payments had been drawn from my account- one for Amazon & one international payment . Scam, automated call supposedly from Amazon Prime about the subscription..., goes on to say press 1 for... press 2 for..., yeah, like I am touching anything other than end call and blocking it, anyone who presses a number on the keypad according to such directions will undoubtably transfer you to a premium phone number costing £X's per minute, or some other way to scam money from you, ask yourself, would a multinational company be phoning from a normal phone code?

AMAZON scam! Telling me that an order has been made in my name and £300 payment has been taken from my card!!! Press 1 to speak to an operator.
