I had moneys passing in and out of my account for a car purchase and my Bank were checking I was happy with the transactions to go through. Did several security checks and were satisfied I was happy with the money going out of my account.
Moments after they called, I called back from a business/withheld number and they said they were 'having technical problems'... [but they can make outgoing calls?] There was no company identification, but I was told that "you can find lots of help and information online" As someone who works in a technical/business capacity, It is very suspicious that they DONT identify the company and DONT specify a website or online resource to check. Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1618147xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI, accident chasers, RTA - claims of all kinds. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). People did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
got a few missed calls from this number an tried to phone back it cut me off then just recieved a call from a creepy woman saying hi there ive been waiting for your call. Clearly a scam but totally freaked me out!
The caller was from a company called blaze network. They asked for a person called Lauren... Which is not me. They said a colleague had asked them to call my number and ask for a Lauren... Not to sure what the overall outcome they expected was.
