I missed the call. On returning the call I was directed to an answering machine which stated that, "this is a marketing call, I am sorry we have missed you..". At least they are honest. I don t know the name of the company.

I had a missed call from this number and having read here that it was a debt collection company I panicked that I had forgotten to pay something! So the man on the phone searched my number and in the meantime asked for my surname. I replied that surely he should know my surname as it was them who called me. He then said he could see on the system that they had dialed a wrong number and I would be removed from the system. Not 5 minutes later I received a call from a mobile number unknown to me. Phone number found tucked into our garden fence on a piece of paper. May be totally innocent.
Recorded message. Claimed to be from Amazon. Said my Amazon Prime service will auto renew, and if I don't want to do this I should press 1 to speak to a customer service representative. I do have Prime but it's not due to renew any time soon. [Narrator: He didn't press 1.]
SCAM
SCAM I have had calls from this number even though I am preferred listing registered. The caller is 'Chris, local energy supplier.' I hang up but whomever this is must be traceable if they are using a landline, surely?
