Fraud call scammed me out of £4K. Reported to police

Received a call from them about an accident I was involved in and asked if they could help. They said that "apparently" they got my number when I clicked an opt in box somewhere. Caller was polite and said they took me off their list, but still seemed very dodgy.
Number unknown to us. Caller was lady with Indian accent who hung up when asked to identify who was calling.
