Phoned our landline at 10am on 22.03.23. I didn't recognise the number (no one I knew) and so I let the answer machine take it. The caller didn't leave a message.

SCAM Message popped up on my laptop stating that it was in danger of being hacked and had been temporarily blocked. The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. Fraud. Text received from them saying they are the "PRA Group. You have a discount". I didn't open the text, but googled PRA Group instead. Apparently they are an American debt collecting agency. Blocked!
Twice when I picked up the phone the line went dead. The third time, a lady said something which included the words "Tax refund" but, despite asking her to repeat herself several times, I could not make out anything else she said as she had a very strong foreign accent. So I blocked the number.
