A robocaller from "mastercard" saying £600 from my account was sent to a foreign country and to press 1 to cancel or something. Clearly a scam I never sent that much to any foreign country.

The number 01736 735261 called me about 10.30am 28/06/23 and it was a recorded message from an International Banking service stating I had made a payment of £300 to Amazon and £1100 to another provider. Told me to press 1 if correct and 2 to speak with an adviser. Pressed 2 and answered by "This is Officer Stephen, how can I help". When I asked which organisation he represented the phone went dead.

I haven’t answered this call yet as I tend to not answer calls where I don’t recognise the number - I figure if it’s important they’ll leave a voicemail. I was getting consistent calls from another number in the same area as this one which I blocked yesterday, and now today I’ve already had two calls from this number in the same area. Unknown number calling a TPS registered private number. It is one digit different from 01226666737, Gamma Telecom Holdings Ltd calling with a driveway scam that has been pestering my home number recently and may be the same. As usual, no message was left on the answerphone, which is always suspicious! Now blocked.
Foreign speaking male asked me to confirm my details as I was due a refund if £202 for over paying my bills over the telephone. He knew my name address but then got upset as I wouldn't give him my date of birth etc
