Sure enough an Indian accented woman said "Hello how are you?" When I asked who she was, she said she was calling from she replied, Curry's PC World. A caller with a foreign accent just called me on 07156917495 to say that my Amazon account is being charged with an amount of £49. As I don't have an Amazon account I told him so and rang off.

SCAM An automated message was left advising that it is officer Dennis Grey from HM Revenue and Customs, the hotline to his division is the number this called from and I must call back on that number. I must not disregard the message and if I do not call back or they don't hear from my solicitor I should get ready to face the legal consequences.

This is a fake number used by scammers to try to get personal information about you. They sound very official and scary, suggesting legal action against you. I inadvertently provided them with my name, National Insurance number and name of bank before I realised that it was a phishing attempt. The caller spoke with a slightly American accent. I tried to call the number back, but it's invalid.

It's the 'the warranty on your washing machine has expired' scam. They will ask you to set up a direct debit, hoping to get your bank details. Quite persistent. If you play gormless and keep them talking you will stop them phoning someone else!

Unwanted call from I talk telecom. Although call was from Chesterfield I am doubtful. Was going to check my line to see if I was receiving the best deal on my telephone service. Cut the call there and then. So no idea what was going to happen then.
