This is legitimate call from BT call centre - Fault line, customer support department, also helpline callback + repair, and sometimes new offers + BT shop to perform security checks for an order.

Obviously a UK Number, but used a (US) prefix. Called back from Skype and they company name was unrecognised. They hung up as soon as I picked up. I am on the TPS, shouldn’t be allowed!
This number called me stating that they supplied call blocker for BT. Told me my card details had expired and asked for new details. Told him not only had my card not expired but neither was it linked to my BT account.

These people are definitely dodgy. The phone rings and a woman tells me it’s about my washing machine and there’s nothing to worry about. I asked the name of her company. She said it was ‘Cover Group UK.’ She said that the cover on my washing machine has just run out. I said that that I thought it was insured. Then she changed her story slightly by saying that warranty has run out (The warranty ran out over a decade ago). I pointed out that that’s irrelevant because I’m insured. She hung up on me.

If you stay on the line you'll get directed to someone else who will eventually (after sugar coating this) make you understand you have to attend a meeting (somewhere in London).
