I don't know the full details of the calls, but 01270 311034 has been harassing my father today, calling back every few minutes despite him repeated telling them "no". Seems like the behaviour of scammers to me.

When I answer, it rings another number so I cut it off before that one was answered. I can only imagine this works as a reverse charge call because effectively you end up calling them. I have been called once a day for the past week by this number. Guess it is an advertising call centre or something. But will probably never find out because I cut them off.

The number was in an email which said it was from a friend (who I've not been in contact with for years) , asking for "help", but it was very much like another email I had just received from someone else saying he was a friend but that was spam.
