This caller tried to persuade me that he was the HMRC and tried to get information out of me but when I asked how I could be sure it was the HMRC he rang off very swiftly.
Boiler replacement - and a Government Scheme! I just pressed to be removed.

A man called me from this number at 20 past 8 in the evening saying he was from Santander and asking me to verify my bank account number. I asked for his name but he immediately put down the phone. He had a foreign accent which sounded like he was of Asian origin. There was also some background noise which sounded like a callcentre.

Hangs up when you answer. Rang back, they hung up on me. At the very least a scam!
