This number has called a few times now, but nobody speaks - just puts phone down. I know the area where this call box is.

"Michael" rang me from Microsoft Customer Services in Manchester (he did not have a Manchester accent, more like Mumbai I would think) to warn me my computer had been hacked. I told him it was just going out and could I have a number to call him back on. He gave me this one which seems, having read various posts, to be one available to all manner of scammers. Call form this number was answered - turned outto be Scottish Power running a survey to compare costs of power bills. Seemed nice enough, and I told him that I am happy with my current supplier... call ended quickly and politely.
asked about my pension - when advised it was a government pension they hung up - tried calling back system put me on hold for 10 mins 'til line cut out - don't answer ...

SCAM. An Asian male called "Anthony" rang, apparently from "Homecare" regarding my expired washing machine warranty. Never had a washing machine warranty & never used Homecare so told him where to go.
Call from Purple travel ltd. Legitimate as I have a holiday booking with them. Brian
Again like everyone else getting these since joining the RAC. Not impressed with them for this.
