Unsolicited call telling me I had won something or other, My phones are registered with the TPS so at the very least anyone calling with any kind of offer must be disreputable.
I didn't know anyone on Manchester so I just let the phone ring without answering. No message was left so I'm guessing it was a spam caller. Have since blocked it.
Polite female caller with Cheshire/Lancashire/Manchester accent about half an hour ago saying she was from the Workers Party of Wales, and that I was listed as having worked in heavy industry (I was actually a civil servant before retiring). This number called and left no message on my mobile so I called it back from my work landline. It is a company who said they were calling me about my recent all inclusive holiday that I was due to get a refund from to be sent to my home address. Told her I hadn't had an all inclusive holiday and she said she would remove my details from the system - impossible since I didn't tell her who I was or gave my number.

This number was given to me this morning by a scammer pretenting to be from TalkTalk saying I'd be without internet service for up to 18 days due to my computer causing problems with their server. Guess what . It could be fixed remotely by the caller........no doubt introducing a virus or some such to my computer and then charging me to get rid of the problem. TalkTalk have confirmed the number is not theirs and that they did not call me this morning
