Received a call from this number and listening to the message can understand why people fall for this. The message advises that HMRC wish to speak with you and it may be in your interest to appoint a Solicitor. Then asks that you call back. I called back and an Asian male answered with "This is Her Majesties Revenue Control, how can I help you" I hung up. Keep sending me sms saying called but left no message. When I check my call log there is nobody from that number attempted to call. Do not ring back if they contact this way as you may pay a lot more than you realise. Also when you look at where in London it originates it's actually a London number originating from Guernsey SO BEWARE!!!!!
Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 012173226xx (a common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, funeral plans.... Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems) Folks did they call you with the same or something new?

SCAM / SPAM Indian lady, pretended to be amazon calling to follow up on their scam emails to say that someone had tried to access my account. Didn't like it when i said i'll just delete my amazon account so no reason to ever call me again. people like this make me sick, trying to scam others out of their hard earned money. She called my elderly parents phone, luckily i answered so they were not tricked into believing this rubbish
just block them, this wasn't the first time they called.
