Called this morning by Lawrence claiming to be from Microsoft and said my computer had been hacked. Something to do with root kits being downloaded on to my computer. He also asked if I had a mobile phone. Told him I would call him back and he gave me Microsoft's no. 0344 800 2400 but checking 1471 the number he called on was 01982 551256. Very persistent but obviously a scam. Beware.
Nothing to worry about. It was a medical centre in Hull
30 Oct 2021 - Also got call from this number saying it’s Royal Mail and that I have a package for which the postage had not been paid. But she could not tell me what the destination address was. If this is legitimately Royal Mail surely they would be able to quote the destination address at minimum.Reply
