This. Number called me at 10.45 am. I do not answer numbers I don't know, so I rejected it. Apparently it was from Coventry and I know nobody in that area. Immediately a call came through from a number which apparently was from Cardiff. I rejected that too. Straight away a third number but I haven't even bothered to find out where that was from. These scammers or whatever they are buy up blocks of numbers and register them to different areas in the hope of fooling someone. I NEVER answer strange number

Automated call claiming to be from a bank fraud department with suspicious activity on a card for transactions of hundreds of pounds. No bank name was mentioned and it asked to either authorise payments or choose to speak to someone. When no choice was pressed immediately the call was ended.

Claiming to be Hammersmith police station over bank card fraud, check lots of bank acc details, then say when the call is finished a dialling tone sounds and to dial one's bank customer advice. Numbers 01182-302112 -308128 & -308140 are loft insulation scams. Phone rings and caller, a computer, hangs up if it doesn't hear a voice! If you answer "hello" or anything else, your line is then logged as a 'VOICE LINE' and you'll be called back sometime later by a con-artist! Whenever you don't recognize a number, DON'T SPEAK! JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear anyone and the line goes dead, then you've just successfully escaped being scammed! Well done :-)
