Caller with Indian accent claimed to be from Microsoft office UK and said that my computer was downloading program which impeded use of some apps. Told him I had not been using it. Clearly a scam, but he knew my name.

Get regularly hassled by these people about a refund . Now just either put the phone down immediately or better still just say silent (always lots of background noise going on at their end and they never speak until several seconds have passed so its always obvious it s them).
please get rid of these calls, its so stressful and frustrating.
