Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.

I had a call from 02076506432, claiming to be from BT they gave me the 0161 number and a BT ID number she claimed to be Angel Williams and her manager was Karen. I told them I would call BT myself they didn't like it and threatened to cut off my internet access, Internet still working. Not nice people.
As can be seen here on these pages, there is a range of numbers used by the same call centre doing business on a field of fake PPI claims (just some call centre so sometimes they pretend to be financial services, PPI, loans...) and their goal is still the same - to dig some personal data for further use... This range is 016146469xx, probably 01614646xxx, so be aware if such numbers call. Block this range and do not amswer these calls...
I received a TEXT from this number, offering to change my Direct Debit and increase the amount. It also included the last 4 digits of the card. I ve not bothered to text back but I find this practice strange.
