ISP scam from India. Man from Openreach said that my internet connection had been used for illegal activity and they would disconnect me. Obvious scam. I played dumb for a bit and eventually the guy gave up and disconnected the call.
Who is the call from?
'Tracy' who has no friends gives a sob story about needing someone to talk to. Says she's chosen your number at random. (I'm not in the phone book). Tries to get you to say your name and telephone number by asking if you are a person she names and quotes your telephone number with a bit of it wrong. This encourages you to correct her. I believe this is a telephone banking scam. Never say your name or telephone number to an unsolicited caller, or say Yes.
Supposed to be openreach but it stopped making sense when I was asked about router light colours.
