Received two calls from two different women today...much the same as already reported. I have contacted BT directly to let them know..their advice is that they know about these scammers but can't do much about the phone calls...they advised contacting your own ISP to get blocking applications...

SCAM, this was the second of 3 phone calls I got on a saturday morning, when i was still in bed, the first 2 before 9am, I have an answer machine and neither of the first 2 left messages, dont have call logging, so can only retrieve the last caller, which was this number, then around 9:54 the phone rang for a third time, I answered immediately, as I was actually holding the phone when it rang, said hello twice, no response, then they hung up that number was 01375405982.

Seems to be some call center, I can see more similar numbers (all the same range - 014833220xx) reported here already. No idea who is behind it, they left no message, no VM. I really don't answer unknown numbers, tried to dig some info about this number first on internet, but no luck so far. People did someone answer it?

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 2079460xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with Indian call centre dealing with PPI, accident claims, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new?
