Said they were calling to offer free inspection of loft insulation because the Government has designated some of the old stuff as "irritant". I asked who they represent and she said they work with a number of companies. I asked what her organisation was and she told me she'd get a manager to ring back in the next half hour. This is an actual real firm's number. But the number has been taken over by some scammer who is contacting random people. I did not answer the phone in time, so rang back and the company said they had several people ringing back who had been approached by scammers. Awful for them to be used like this.

Scam sending out fake verification codes for Whatsapp.

Received a payment request email from Paypal for £650 with message stating "Fraudulent activity found, amount £649.99 GBP has been debited from your account for a purchase of DECATHLON GIFT CARDS, if it's not you reach us immediately @ +44-800-368-9784". As this email was directly from PayPal, i checked my account and the request for payment was actually true, however the message on the request is false and the number is fake. This number is NOT Paypal and is a scam.

Complete scam - saying from virgin media re download speed of internet. They advise opening an ap to check speed then download another ap - DONT - could not confirm any virgin details like account number or services I receive only name and postcode. PLEASE DONT FALL FOR IT NEWCASTLE UPON TUNE

Reported to o2 and national cyber crime unit, case opened as it is a uk number so they’ll be able to take action. SCAM this number is sending out texts that are a potential scam - just received a message purporting to be from one of my sons. On checking with this website I find this number is in Manchester Uk, as was the number they asked me to WhatsApp. My son, on the other hand is nowhere even close to the Uk.

SCAM Indian woman pretending to be BT saying that there were multiple unknown IP addresses connected to our internet. Tried to get me to go into the terminal of my computer and started inserting ridiculous stuff. As soon as I asked BT to email me officially and we take it from there, she went silent and hung up.

Claimed to be Visa ringing about fraudulent transactions on my account. First warning sign - Didn't know who I was. They should know whose account the transactions were on Second warning sign - As far as I'm aware Visa don't contact people direct, your card issuer will contact you. So it would have been Lloyds, Halifax, barclaycard, etc
