Call received a few moments ago - Recorded message reported my National Insurance Number would be cancelled and consequential legal action - Press 1 to stop any action .....need...
Told me he was from security office and I had been spotted using my mobile phone whilst driving. He told me it carried an instate suspension of my licence. It doesn t. I put the phone down.
I have called applianceserve on 08004118899. I said I had asked for a refund of the £175 I had paid for my washing machine to cover the next 3 years following the expiry of the manufacturer s guarantee but had not received any response. Having seen comments on the internet saying it was a scam, I said if the company is genuine then please can you arrange a refund. She looked up my details and said someone will call me tomorrow in office hours. She sounded pleasant - so - watch this space!!

My number is not listed and they called my land line AND mobile! Apparently they sent me a letter, but wanted me to confirm my address. I never got anything and had never heard of them before! I told them on both occassions - they called withing 5 minutes on both lines - to take me complete details off their list and stop harrassing me or I would call the authoroties. On my question what it was about why they called they didn t answer. SCAM! They had my name.

Report this to HMRC on their fraud web site as I have. The more report it the more likely HMRC will investigate.

The phone rang 15 times before I answered. Sounded like other people doing similar calls in the background. Accented man, knew my name and address!!!!?? Said my washing machine warranty was expired.
