Scam call saying the were from motor insurance bureau
SPAM received an unsolicited phone call at 8.58 on a Saturday morning, from what sounded like an Indian call centre. The caller claimed she was contacting me on behalf of Legal & General with regards to my washing machine. I explained I was on the TPS & clearly stated I wanted my phone number removed from their database & not called again. However, as this has happened 2 or 3 times this last quarter, I am now formerly complaining online to the TPS - at https://www.tpsonline.or

SCAM Call Guardian! About unwanted calls, yeah like this! Had my name, full address but wanted my date of birth. When I refused he said it was to confirm I was a senior citizen, needed to take up offer.Tried to say I was a registered customer. I am old but not stupid. They need to get a life!
Fraud - recorded message pretending to be HMRC and saying there was tax fraud under my name and that if I didn't press 1 immediately then I would be arrested shortly!
SCAM - Person claimed they were from UK Insurance Department / Black Horse Finance. Had my name & first line of my address (somewhat disturbingly) and wanted me to verify further information for a PPI refund, even though I had never claimed for a PPI refund. They wouldn't give me a number to call and when I said this couldn't be correct, the date for claiming for PPI has long gone and companies aren't ringing people out of the blue years when they haven't claimed, he hung up.

Caller went on to ask if I was a home owner and if I worked full time or if I was entitled to any tax credits and whether my heating was mains fed or fuel. When I stated that my house was mains fed I was advised that I don't qualify. The call ended.

When I picked up and say hello, there was only recorded answer that I need to call back this number because there is important stuff from HMRC that I need to sort out. The end of the message was a threat that if I don't they will contact authorities. I just want to let you all know , that HMRC will never call you- they will ALWAY send you a letter. It is a SACM.
