Asian man called "John" said he was from Sky and that my "equipment insurance had been expired". I don;t have Sky and never have, so its an obvious scam to get you to pay them for non-existant insurance
I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. The scammers knew all of my details - full name, address, email address, how much I'm billed each month - even my security question. They were very convincing. I stupidly applied for a loan was refused now despite stating did not want my number shared I have a crazy number of texts/calls all promising a loan in secs! All nonsense usually a "broker" wanting to charge an upfront fee of undisclosed amount to a debit card upfront for putting you in touch with loan companies with no gaurantee of an actual loan being arranged.
