Claimed to be from credit card fraud department. Automated message saying a charge of over one hundred pounds has been made on my card from Amazon, also a foreign transaction of over one thousand pounds. Asked me to press buttons to authorise or talk to an advisor. Total scam.

Legit. Checks out with what is listed on the HSBC UK website. Though the call quality was very bad. Also, you know it's a genuine bureaucratic banking process when they ask for 10 different details to confirm your identity. I swear the support lady could just identify theft the hell out of me at this point.
SCAM Unusually, this was actually an English person on the other end of the phone rather than a call centre setting from India etc! The number rang my works mobile at 10:05 09/05/2023. The person on the other end spoke very well and professional, saying that they were calling from HSBC, and were making me aware of activity in my account that looked suspicious, that money was being taken out by an advertising firm. This number sent me a text on 26/02/2023 at 15:58 telling me to use the 6 digit authentication code it sent me to unfreeze my Facebook account. I called this number later and got Tesco mobile voicemail.

Caller said I had a problem with my BT router. Caller was aggressive and English was not brilliant. Told caller they were scammers and put the phone down.
